چکیده

Natural gas hydrate is widely spread in marine environments around the world. It has great energy potential due to its high methane content. High-precision exploration and evaluation of still face challenges as it affected by complex reservoir control mechanisms distribution characteristics. Resistivity used geophysical logging theoretical research on hydrate-bearing reservoirs utilizing sensitivity electrical response. In this paper, based examination global occurrences, resistivity results are summarized. Then key remaining experimental concerns reviewed. summary, properties a reliable means derive characteristics, despite effect induced anisotropic drilling technology. The overall change associated with occurrence pore filling relatively small, specific value sediment lithology saturation. On other hand, fracture have strong anisotropy, massive occurrences (i.e., layers no sediment) section shows very variation. Clay minerals an important factor restricting accurate estimation saturations from situ measurements. Many studies proposed correction Archie empirical formula, but representative models not yet been developed. worth noting that more measurements may be able provide additional response information various systems.

Electrical Resistivity Investigation of Gas Hydrate Distribution in

Electrical methods offer a potential geophysical approach to determining the sub-bottom distribution of gas hydrate in the deep marine environment. Gas hydrate is essentially nonconductive. Hence, sediments with pore spaces partially filled with hydrate or containing veins filled with hydrate are more resistive than surrounding sediments with pore spaces filled with seawater. To date, attempts ...

Observed Gas Hydrate Morphologies in Marine Sediments

Small-scale morphology of gas hydrate is important for understanding the formation of gas hydrate deposits, for estimating the concentrations of gas hydrate from geophysical data, and for predicting their response to climate change or commercial production. The recent use of borehole pressure coring tools has allowed marine gas-hydrate-bearing sediments to be recovered with centimeter to sub-mi...

Faulting of Gas-Hydrate-Bearing Marine Sediments — Contribution to Permeability

Extensive faulting is observed in sediments containing high concentrations of methane hydrate off the southeastern coast of the United States. Faults that break the sea floor show evidence of both extension and shortening; mud diapirs are also present. The zone of recent faulting apparently extends from the ocean floor down to the base of gas-hydrate stability. We infer that the faulting result...

A cylindrical electrical resistivity tomography array for three-dimensional monitoring of hydrate formation and dissociation.

The LArge Reservoir Simulator (LARS) was developed to investigate various processes during gas hydrate formation and dissociation under simulated in situ conditions of relatively high pressure and low temperature (close to natural conditions). To monitor the spatial hydrate distribution during hydrate formation and the mobility of the free gas phase generated during hydrate dissociation, a cyli...
